I’m feeling under-motivated about the House Cup this go-round, so I’ve decided I’m not going to push myself too much. I can manage one project for the Cup each month — all three will probably be granny squares for Martha’s afghan — and anything else I turn in will be a bonus.
So far, my knitting for 2012 is off to a slow start. I started Kerry’s birthday mitts at Bryant Park on NYE while the girls skated; since then, I keep *knitting, ripping out, repeat from * at least three times, about five rows. Frustrating. Once I finish typing this, I’m going to go put a chicken in the oven to roast and cozy up on the couch with my knitting again. Here’s hoping I can get through the cuff of the first mitt before dinner.
I’m excited about 2012. I love a fresh start!
Hi!!!! I put in a half-baked application (saying Slytherin or Bust, basically) and am one of those NQFY people. Which doesn’t fire me up either!Something will really inspire you for 2012, knitting wise!

I wondered what happened with your application. I think if you submit something every month as a NQFY, your chances of being sorted next time are much better. I feel much better about it now that I’ve given myself permission to not go crazy with it.
