I had a whole post thought out about how there’s so much information and media I want to consume — TV shows, podcasts, blogs, magazines, books, etc. — but I don’t really have any coherent thoughts about the whole situation, other than this: I have a lot of things in my queue to read/watch/listen to, and it can get overwhelming. In fact, it can stress me out. And even just thinking about writing about it was stressing me out. So I’m not going to do that.
Here’s what I’m going to do this year. I give myself permission to not add that new podcast to my queue, even if it sounds great, because I already have great podcasts in my queue. It’s okay that I have dozens of audiobooks I haven’t listened to yet. I’ll get around to them when I feel like it. Or maybe I won’t and that’s okay too. Same with all the books, tv shows, movies, New Yorker articles. I’m going to read/watch/listen to whatever looks interesting and not feel like I’m losing some race.
